I'm One Week Old

From Christina Imee Manuel Birth Pictures

Tuesday, July 28, 2009
Christina - Today is my one-week birthday, and it's super special. Today, I share my little birthday with Grandpa's big birthday. Even though I'm only a week old today, Grandpa's a whole year older. We went to Grandma and Grandpa's house for dinnr and the adults had pizza and ice cream to celebrate.

I'm still really mixed up with my days and nights, but mom and dad are trying to be patient with me. They've been getting good advice from friends and family and I should be straight soon.

I'm a really good eater (especially at night when I'm up constantly). At the pediatrician's office on Monday, I had almost gotten back to my birth weight (I was 6lbs 10oz at birth and 6lbs 8oz at the Dr. on Monday).

Mom likes to dress me up, but daddy is practical and prefers things that are easy to get on and off for diaper changes.
I've tried tummy time twice and well, I can't move much, so it's not all that exciting.

I'm still getting the hang of things, but I'm sure to have a lot to talk about in the coming weeks, months and years.

I can't wait to meet a bunch of you, but Dr. says that until I'm 6 weeks old, I should stay with mommy and daddy for the most part; something about germs and yucky stuff.

Talk to everyone again soon.
Christina

P.S. My umbilical cord stump fell off today. Mommy and daddy can't believe it. It seems to have happened so fast to them.

What is this world coming to, 1week old and already blogging?!?!?!

But really, about time for a post! Glad everything is doing good. Get some sleep, I'm sure you need it.

Congratulations! The wait for the photos and story was worth it. I'm so glad to hear Christina is healthy and doing well. Just wait for the first well baby appointment with the immunizations. It's still tough for me and I've been through it many times. Most babies get their days and nights reversed so don't fret. She'll figure it out in no time. You need to post some photos of Christina with her daddy. He's already wrapped, I'm sure. Love to all! Enjoy your little one.
